Cheryl Ann Bearss
I live in McLean, VA with my husband Steve Cherry (wilmerhale) where we raised our four kids who are recent graduates. Over the last two years I have had the time to really focus on my painting and teaching. This year I had four solo shows and sold dozens of paintings! I paint everyday expressing my love of light, pattern and texture found in nature.

I paint stylized landscapes in acrylic. I find magic in the light at the end of a dark path, a resting spot next to a stream or the interlocking patterns and textures of branches, roots, water and rocks.
A walk in the woods provides me with an escape from the concerns of daily life. All my senses awake. Trees are not only good for the soul but seeing their life-giving resources in person reminds me how all of life needs to be valued and protected from the destructive instincts of people.
I have displayed my work in shows across DC, VA, MD, CA, and IL, and at galleries including Jefferson Street Artists, The Torpedo Factory, The Corcoran, Watergate Gallery, Artomatic, The Bethesda Writers Center, GRACE Gallery, Great Falls Art Center, McLean Project for the Arts, Falls Church Arts, Stifel and Capra, Alexia Scott Studio, and Staunton Augustus Art Center Solo Show, Alexia Scott Studio and Gallery, StudioGallery-Washington DC
